Summers are here so it is officially the perfect time to drink all types of beverages to cool down body temperature. Apart from fruit juices, people love drinking coconut water in summers. But do you know there are many side effects of drinking it? Read on to find out.

It Ups Your Calorie: - We all want to reduce calorie but gaining calories is definitely undesirable. The sugar content in coconut water is not too high like soft drinks and fruit juices but it has many calories. 11 ounces of coconut water has up to 60 calories.

It Increases Blood Sugar: - Coconut water is not considered as a sugary drink but it does contain carbohydrates and calories. Those people with blood sugar should avoid drinking it regularly. It is preferable to drink it only for few days of the week like 3 days in a week.

Might Act As Laxative: - Drinking coconut water has laxative effects on the digestion process. Reason being it is a natural laxative which might cause a problem for people who have issues in bowel movement. Therefore proper care should be done before gulping down a large amount of coconut water.

It Might Cause Allergies: - We all are allergenic to at least some of food items or ingredients and we avoid consuming them. Similarly, coconut water too can cause allergy in some people who are allergic to it. Coconut water is a tree nut so if you’re allergic to tree nuts you should stay away from it.
